Everyone seems upset about the box art for the new Doom:
My personal dream cover would have been a techno-hell Geof Darrow landscape with lots of skeleton soldiers blowing up, but this doesn't bother me. Sure, it's generic in that "any modern game" sort of way. If you removed the title it could easily be the cover of Crysis or a futuristic Call of Duty/Battlefield. If you removed the helmet it could be Nathan Drake or Booker Dewitt under there, thoughtfully posing with his gun.
Still, it doesn't seem like much to get worked up about. If you plugged this modern Doom Guy into the classic Doom comic it probably wouldn't be very different.
