Back before TeeVee robbed us of our imaginations, demons and demigods had fire and wit and were around every corner ready to turn man away from the light of God's love or, alternately if you're into it, free mankind from the manacles of an uncaring old fool. Where did they come from, these rebellious angels and lords of Hell? How were the original demons adapted for Judeo-Christian use and how is it that the worst we contend with now is a "War" on Christmas when 100 years ago every new event brought a brand new anti-christ?
